Starship Emergency

My video showing off the re-lighting, sounds and particle effects that were added. I did make a video but unlike my other videos there is no comparison, because it would look as though my version would be getting compared to still images with no sound.

Original: The main cargo hold. There are lights on the side panels facing upwards on the wall. There are lights on the support structures.

My Version: I wanted to change the scene where it seems part of the power was shut down. I amde the scene darker and used lighting under side panels to light a main portion of the scene.

Original: Air Lock Door. It is well lit, but there is no location that these lights are coming from. The left and right lights in the corners are not facing the door so it makes no sense how there is white lights on the side of the door.

My Version: I took away the lights on the left and right of the door. Added a light prop so the red light would make sense and had the lights in the corner light the floor.

My Version: I took away most of the lights but left an overall soft yellow to help light up the walls between the support structures. I added steam to the pipes and panel. I also added sparks to wires so it seemed there was damage and electricity was out.

Original: The middle section of the cargo hold. Located next to the steam from the previous scene. I wanted to leave some light in the scene so I wanted to leave these, but thought they needed to be dimmed.

My Version: I took the lights and added IES Profiles to them and used the lights from the panels to light the majority of the walls. I softened the lights to make it less harsh on the back wall as well.

My Version: Overall my Version is darker, but it still lights the scene overall. It also gives a sense that something has happened to the ship and that repairs are needed.

Original: The stairs are well lit but there are parts especially along the pipes and door that don't make much sense for the lights located in those spots.

My Version: The lights on the pipes are mostly gone, and I moved the red light from the bottom of the door to the top and placed a light asset there. I also changed light values and made them softer, while putting emphasis on the stairs.

Original: The scene has red lights the base of the door and white lights on the pipes. It looks like there is light in the door that is supposed to be coming from the next room as well.

My Version: The red light was moved above the door and I took added another red point light to help light the ground and pipes. I lowered the light in the door because I Changed the lighting in the next room. The light under the panels add contrast.

Original: The red light can be seen and there is a blue light in the door. However, the next room is a yellowish hue to it. This didn't match and I wanted to use the lights on the ground to do some more work.

My Version: I changed the hue to blue and decided to turn some of the lights on the ground off, all of them on would have been too much. I used the floor lights to light the walls and close to the door allowing the light to make sense.

Original: The storage room of the ship. There are four lights located in the center and it lights the room. Behind the boxes there is blue that is bleeding through from the previous side. There are floor lights being used but I wanted more emphasis.

Original: A view from the far corner that was seen in the previous shot. Blue lights can be seen in the doors and there is an overall orange/ yellow hue to the scene.

My Version: I added steam coming out of a pipe because it just stopped and would add more to the scene. The walls are lit up and help light up the ceiling. The hue shifted to a violet/ magenta. It helps give off a feeling that something isn't right.

Original: The Bridge has red lights coming from the center and lights on walls coming from the side panels. There is no light coming from the ones on the wall near the seats. There is nothing in outer space besides fog and a black sky.

My Version: I added steam coming from the center grates and changed the side panels so they could cast shadows on the walls. I added lights into the front corners of the ships and changed the lights to match the storage room. Assets added to background.

Original: It's well lit but overall looks dull. There is a lot of red and lights that don't make sense with sense where you can see their points coming from. There is also little contrast in the scene.

My Version: The lights on the wall add a soft blue to the other wall. Red is coming up from the panels and the lights under the center grates are a white/ blue hue. The room matches the previous but adds more contrast overall.

Original: Overall there is a large focus on red with minimal blue coming from lights that lead up to the seats. The lights are hard to see and don't do much in helping add more to the scene.

My Version: I took out the middle red lights and added sparks to show why they are off. there are blue lights for the room, but the lights on the stairs make a contrast with the red. The chairs lit to pop out. The corners have their own hue for contrast.

Original: It has most of the same issues as previously mentioned. I felt there were better ways to make this look.

My Version: The sparks can be seen on the left. the red on the stairs meshes with the walls, but contrasts with the room and ground. I added a light behind the straps and let it cast more shadows on the wall as well.

Original: There are lights that have no source and make no sense like the one on the dashboard and behind the chairs. The Background is also empty with no light and doesn't add much for story or visuals.

My Version: The cockpit of the ship. with the pilot and co-pilot seats. I got rid of the red light behind the chairs and replaced them white lights facing down from above. The sun is entering from the right side, and the there are lights on the dashboard.

Original: There are red lights but no physical lights that make sense for it to be lit there. There also is no background with planets or galaxy with stars.

My Version: A closer view of the seats and the red lights underneath lighting up the leg space. There is also a better view of the lights coming down from above the chairs hitting the chairs and ground. The galaxy, planets and stars leave for a good view.

This is a re-light of a Spaceship Scene found on Unreal Marketplace. I wanted to make it look as though there was damage don to the ship and that it needed repairs. I deleted and added lights, particle effects, and sounds to make the scene more immersive. I used galaxy and planet assets from the Unreal Marketplace. The sounds and particle effects along with the panels that are used to have circular lights on the wall are all assets from the Soul City scene found in the Unreal Marketplace. I used light fixtures from the spaceship and placed them where needed along with using IES Profiles from Unreal Market. Lastly, I took my scene and made a LUT for the scene in order to boost colors and get the appearance I wanted. I did make a video but unlike my other videos there is no comparison, because it would look as though my version would be getting compared to still images with no sound.
