The Cult's Dungeon

This is a video that compiles a portion of what is seen in the photos below. It has both the original version and my version.

This is the original scene. This is the beginning of the scene. It has light but there are candle chandelier above that are only lighting up the ceiling. I wanted to add more light to the scene to bring out more detail.

This is the original scene. This cage is dimly lit and had nothing in it. I thought I could add something to it and make it more pronounced it might make it look better.

This is the original scene. This window has light coming in from the outside but it felt too bright and over saturated. It did help add god rays with the volumetric fog. However, it didn't seem to look right once you look outside.

This is my re-lit scene. The window now doesn't bring in as much Light and it can be a little hard to see the fog bringing in God rays, However, I decided to add snow falling and blowing outside for a more interesting change.

This is the original scene. These cells are in the main entrance area at the end of the hallway. The lanterns give off a good glow but I felt that it still didn't light the scene enough.

This is my re-lit scene. I added more point lights that didn't cast shadows so that the walls would be lit up. I also added rect lights towards the front of the cells so that the bars would cast shadows onto the ground.

This is the original scene. This is the hallway that leads to the first catacomb it seemed alright but still just a bit dark for close quarters and fire being around in multiple places. I also wanted to light candles up a little more.

This is my re-lit scene. I have lit up the walls a bit more. I also added candles to a coffin that I unfortunately didn't get in the last shot. I did add a point light to the candles next to it so it lights up the corner of it more.

This is my re-lit scene. I added to the shelves to give them more emphasis but also to help give something that would light the way. I also added point lights sparingly throughout to help keep it lit in places that made sense for light to be.

This is part of the original scene. It is a shelf that is bare and feels as if it should have something there. almost all previous shelves had at least something siting on them.

This is the added treasure room from my re-lit scene. I decided to add lanterns and used one big point light that doesn't cast shadows so that the whole room wold have a bright vibrant view. I was hoping this would help make it easier to see the treasure.

This was a Originally a scene called Medieval Dungeon on Epic Games store. I took the Lighting and re-lit the scene by changing values and adding additional Lights, and tweaking the volumetric fog that was from the original scene. I added particle effects with summoning circles and snow outside the windows. I used meshes from a pack called Ancient Treasures to add coins, jewelry, and weapons. These meshes were primarily placed inside an additional room I made using the Dungeons Assets. In addition, I populated different areas of the scene were I thought it was empty. For an enhanced detail I decided to include some blood stains so I used Megascans version of blood. All assets used can be found for free in the Unreal Engine Market Place on the Epic Games Store. In total this scene took me about 2 1/2 weeks to complete.
